HOW WE ROLL
- THE PLAN - We’re exploring North this week since there’s alot of trail construction happening around the metro area.
- PARKING - Plan to park in the lot behind (East) of Back Pocket or the lot adjacent. We’ll gather in front of the brewery at the outdoor patio.
- ROUTE - The route is an out and back lollipop 🍭 meaning we’ll go out and come back the same way with a circle at the farthest point that will take us through Jester Park. It’s a mixture of paved trails, protected bike lane & road. The Jester loop is very picturesque with wild flowers, a golf course, buffalo, elk, trees, a pond and more! While the route isn’t flat, neither is there a significant amount of climb. The last 5mi back are mostly a downhill grade which will make you go “wheeee”. Plan for 1:45-2hrs to ride but if you have a hard time stop you can turn around at the 10mi point and easily trace your way back to the brewery.
- POST RIDE - Some are already planning a post ride beverage & meal, Back Pocket has some really tasty street tacos, fresh guacamole along with other tasty options. Think elevated bar food. View the menu Food | Backpocket Pin&Pixel
How To Stay Informed:
Most Mondays May through September we hold team training rides. The exceptions are Monday 5/27, Memorial Day and Monday, July 22, Ragbrai.
Any changes made to training rides will be posted in/on the event, viewable in the spaces team App and team private facebook group.
By RSVP'ing to training rides you'll be notified if scheduled rides have to be canceled, locations, routes or times change.
All changes will also be announced no later than 5pm on the day of the training ride.
Velorosa Flat Tire Policy - Flats are inevitable, but being unprepared shouldn’t be. We ask that when you plan to participate in any Velorosa team event or ride you carry the necessary tools and equipment needed to change a tire. While you may not always feel comfortable doing so and another rider will be willing to help or guide you, being self-sufficient is good bike and team etiquette.
